Customer Sinopec Maoming “very satisfied” with us
We are pleased to share great news from the Sinopec Maoming TMU Project in Guangdong, China, which commenced in March 2024 and was successfully completed in June 2025. This project was accomplished through the collective efforts of the TMU project team, the service team, and people involved in this project from SFW.
As the contract supplier and manufacturer for this retrofit project, we SHI FW Power Machinery Co., Ltd. (SFWPM) were responsible for manufacturing and delivering replacement parts for two units of CFB boiler. Each unit includes four evaporator wing wall panels with relative furnace roof opening panels, furnace front wall opening panels and connection pipes. The production and shipment were successfully completed, and ultimately arrived at the project site Sinopec Maoming’s power station. The product quality has been highly recognized by our customer Sinopec Maoming.
Unit 1 of Sinopec Maoming’s power station successfully started up after SFW installed four new wingwalls and carried out other smaller modifications at the beginning of June 2025. Reports from the project site say both the boiler load and NOx emissions are now in good condition.
Furthermore, SFW carried out the same modification on Unit 2 of Sinopec Maoming II power station already in 2024, and the preliminary performance test report issued by the local authority, GDSEI, shows great results, as detailed below:
- Boiler Load: 410 T/Hr
- Boiler Efficiency: 93.85 % (higher than SFW’s indicative 91.89%)
- NOx emissions: 45.7 mg/ m³ (with Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction, SNCR, in operation)
This TMU project successfully addressed the customer’s operational challenges by adding heating surface in the furnace and modifying the separator inlet. This improved the material circulation in the hot loop and reduced furnace temperatures. These upgrades were implemented to meet the customer’s dual objectives; lowering NOx emissions and restoring the boiler’s original design output, which are critical needs after 18 years of operation, fuel changes, and furnace erosion adjustments carried out by the customer.
Performance tests and operational data confirmed the success of this TMU project, not only fulfilling but exceeding customer expectations. The improvements also contributed to reduced operating costs, delivering additional long-term value. Consequently, Sinopec Maoming has been very satisfied with the results of this TMU project. The procurement department at Sinopec Maoming has issued a letter of thanks to SFWEMC and SFWPM, and their boiler department has also issued an award to SFW.
Thank-you letter from Sinopec Maoming
